Solid musical foundations
Sila took her first step into her musical journey in 2011 by securing a place at the ATSO Fine Arts High School. After realizing her indispensable interest in music during her high school years, she joined choral studies, which gained a significant place in her life. Between 2013 and 2015, she began participating in choral concerts and felt her star begin to shine. Under the conductorship of Prof. Dr. Ahter Destan, she participated in choral festivals held in Macedonia and Bulgaria with the İsmail Baha Sürelsan Conservatory Youth Choir.
Academic and international success
The relationship between Sila and music, which began emotionally, moved onto an academic path in 2015 when she was admitted to the Music Education Department at Gazi University. During her university years, she continued to nourish her musical education with stage and choral experiences.
Between 2015 and 2017, as a member of the Ankapella Youth Choir, she participated in the 26th International Choral Competition held in Niš, Serbia, where she experienced the rightful pride of winning the "Best Foreign Work Performance" and "Most Popular Choir" awards.
Learning and development dedication
Her passion for music grew even stronger upon completing her undergraduate program. In 2019, she ranked first in the entrance examinations for the Master’s Program in the Music Theory Department at Ankara Music and Fine Arts University. While Sila continued to specialize in the fundamental building blocks of music, she also persisted in developing herself both vocally and instrumentally. Among these instruments, the cello—which she felt was closest to her own delicate spirit and physical aesthetic—began to make its presence felt most strongly.
In addition to her personal development, she has been actively giving cello and piano lessons since her undergraduate years to pass her knowledge on to future generations; she considers working one-on-one with her students and sharing music to be the most enjoyable aspect of her profession.
